HQ CFO was built for owner-led professional service firms that have outgrown basic accounting but don't want to build a full in-house finance department.

Leadership

HQ CFO is led by Michael Burt — a finance professional and former CPA with over 15 years of progressive experience in accounting, corporate finance, and business consulting.

Michael's career spans from staff-level accounting to corporate controllership across manufacturing, energy, and professional services. He has held senior finance positions at AeroRepair Corp, where he rose from Accounting Manager to Corporate Controller, Hitchiner Manufacturing as Senior Business Analyst and Senior Corporate Accountant, and Tarsus as Client Controller. Earlier roles at Enel Green Power, Spartan, and Airgas built a strong foundation in corporate accounting and financial operations.

That range is deliberate. The firms HQ CFO serves need someone who understands both the day-to-day accounting and the strategic picture — and has done both.

Michael holds a Master of Science in Accounting/Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
